About us
Darwin Wedding Dance's director Ryoko Jones was trained in teaching at Arthur Murray Dance School in Melbourne. She has taught wedding dance, ballroom and latin dances for over 300 couples.The personalized wedding dance has been applauded for it's variety ranging from traditional, romantic, simple, dramatic, fun, cheeky and energetic routines. Delivering an amazing learning experience that is simple, easy and fun is our principle. Our mission is to make the wedding couple's special day extra special.
How does it work?
1. Free Initial consultationWe will find out how you want to look and feel on the dance floor. After finding a clear and common understanding of your goals and expectations, your teacher will map out your lesson schedule. If you are happy with the schedule, then you are welcome to book lessons.
2. Book Lessons
It's best to keep lessons close together to get the absolute best result.
3. Start Lessons

FAQ's
Can you give me a tip for choosing a dance?Be inspired! Traditional Bridal Waltz is good, but what about Salsa, Tango or Rock'n'Roll?
When should we start?
Ideally starting lessons 6 monts prior to your wedding date will allow you to learn more than wedding dance.
How many lessons will we need?
How well do you want to dance? If your answer is "just to look comfortable" then: 3 hrs of lessons will give you some basic step patterns. 5 hrs of lessons will make you feel very comfortable & look elegant.
My partner has two left feet, what can we do?
Most steps are made of walking forward & backward or left and right. All you need is to put simple patterns together.
I just don't want to look stupid on the floor...
Your goal may be quite modest and you just want to look natural. We will make a easy and small routine especially for you.
What happens if we can't get our routine done in a package?
If we say you will need 5 hours to feel comfortable dancing to your song, and for some reason you need a bit more time, you won't be charged for that extra time.
Do you cater for bridal party and parents of the bride and groom?
Yes we do. A Bridal party group class is available.
